So often, I will start working with a client and evolve from helping with one aspect of their business to covering many more. Here are 20 tasks that I can help you with, so that you have more time to concentrate on growing your business...
1. Blog writing
You know that you should be writing blogs, but do not have the time/motivation/inspiration (delete as appropriate) to start. Luckily, I have all three of the above! I can deliver a series of blogs to add to your website, helping to improve your SEO and more importantly, connect with your customers. I ensure the content is engaging, relevant and helps create a connection between you and prospective customers.
2. Competitor analysis
I absolutely love providing clients with useful competitor analysis - it is a great way to help businesses understand their strengths and develop areas of weakness. I can focus on the key area of importance to you (for example, their social media presence) or provide an overall summary of each competitor.
3. Credit Control and book keeping
You are far too busy to be chasing unpaid invoices! This is one of the core services I offer, which will instantly free up time (and stress) from your day. I can also input receipt information into a spreadsheet, allowing you to delegate your expenses rather than allowing them to pile up and become an overwhelming task.
4. Social Media
Vital to every small business, social media is your way of connecting, informing and inspiring. In a competitive market, it is imperative that you stand out from the crowd with engaging, consistent social media posts. 5. Creating mail shots and newsletters to shout about what you offer
Mailshots are a fantastic way to connect with existing or prospective customers, popping into their in box acts as a reminder that you exist, and are particularly useful for promoting any changes or special offers you are offering. I can create the content, send to your mailing list, and provide you with analysis on how many people have opened the email.
6. Range analysis and overstock management
Following a successful career in buying, I can act as a Freelance Buying Consultant within your store - I provide feedback on Merchandising, POS, range analysis (ROS and GM) and suggestions for promotions and overstocks. Ideal for small independent retailers who could do with an extra pair of eyes every now and then.
7. Life admin and personal tasks
Because as a busy business owner, you struggle to find time in your day to complete everything on your 'work' to do list, the last thing you need to do in the evening is worry about dealing with your car insurance! I have added this due to requests from existing clients, and cover all aspects of life admin - including party planning, researching gifts for family members, booking appointments, insurance and utility comparisons... and much more!
8. Following up with clients/customers
You know how important it is to cultivate a relationship with your existing clients, but just cannot find the time. I support small businesses with the full customer journey - confirmation, thank you for visiting, and other reminder emails.
9. Database building
A time consuming task, I will happily update your CRM with email addresses, telephone numbers etc. As we all know, CRM's are only as valuable as the information within them.
I love researching topics for clients! This can be anything from researching background for a presentation to topics for a newsletter. All information will be presented back to you clearly with sources provided for you to follow up.
11. Booking appointments with clients
As part of my support, I can contact clients either by telephone or email to book appointments, and then add straight to your diary (if shared) or create a spreadsheet with all notes and meeting dates added.
12. Update your website images and content
Websites need to be engaging and give the visitor an insight into what you can offer them. If your website was created three years ago, and you have evolved and grown since then, perhaps it could do with a mini overhaul? A cost efficient way of relaunching to prospective clients, I can update the text with additional, more up to date information, and replace images with ones more pertinent to you and your business today.
13. Add process to your business!
If you are writing the same email over and over again, I can create template emails for you to use and therefore save time. I also help with putting administrative processes in place within your business to make you more efficient.
14. Creating reports
With a corporate background, I am used to creating reports for many business functions. I can create sales reports, weekly task reports, RAG reports for ongoing projects... if you tell me what you need, I will find a way of delivering it to you in a format that makes summarising the information and pulling out the key facts much simpler for you.
15. Prepare slideshows
I promise not to create a 'death by Powerpoint' spreadsheet! If you are finding it difficult to find the time to fine tune an important presentation, pass it over to me and I will take it off your hands.
16. Hotel and flight booking
I will research the best flights for the day you would like to travel, transfer options at either end, and suggest suitable hotels within your preferred area. This also often also involves me researching restaurants.
17. Designing marketing materials
I can help with any marketing material, ranging from business cards and flyers, to tri fold leaflets.
This can involve sourcing team members via Linked In or similar, creating and posting job advertisements, calling prospective candidates to arrange interview dates, to collating CV's.
19. Booking conference facilities
If you have an important meeting coming up, or are arranging a team day, I can take over the event management and ensure everything runs smoothly.
If you have a large document that needs an extra pair of eyes to check for punctuation, spelling, grammar and formatting errors, that you simply don't have the time to read through - pass this over to me! I can add notes to the document allowing you to read through and correct the changes I have highlighted.
